“Indigenous peoples must be supported in their collective attempts to restore their traditions while also revitalizing themselves in ways they feel are appropriate in contemporary society. One of the places this can happen is the area of indigenous-based environmental education.” – Dr. Greg Cajete  (Reclaiming Biophilia)

There are several projects we are focusing on this year for our community and your tax deductible donation will help us to see these programs become a reality.

1: Plan, build and plant senior/wheelchair five accessible beds for Taos Pueblo Seniors and install a new water catchment system.

2: Re-plant garden at Taos Pueblo Headstart

3: Plan & develop a farm-to-garden program at the Taos Pueblo Day School to increase healthy foods for students, including an environmental science curriculum regarding sustainable agriculture as it relates to traditional and modern farming methods.

4: Increase tribal food security/sovereignty, strengthen the community’s heritage, and further stimulate economic development/entrepreneurism through 177 children/youth participants’ immersion in traditional/sustainable food programs.

Donations of $25-$75 will get you a one-page calendar Willow Center 2016 calendar, and donations above this amount will get a Red Willow Center full 12 month photo calendar.
